Exploring aspects of yin and yang yoga, you’ll discover how to both fire the body up and how to slow it down. Practicing anatomically-informed hatha and vinyasa flow each morning and restorative and yin yoga each evening, you’ll explore these complementary practices and all the elements necessary to be able to confidently teach both.
Extensive study of asana, alignment, anatomy, assists and adjustments, the philosophy and history of yoga, teaching methodology, intelligent sequencing, and the business of yoga will prepare you to teach with confidence and poise. You'll learn a multidisciplinary approach so that you can graduate with the ability to effectively teach multiple styles of yoga and meditation.
Whether you’re looking to deepen your personal practice or to teach professionally, this YTT will provide you with everything you need to take your yoga to the next level. This yoga teacher training is designed to move you deeper into your own personal practice while simultaneously preparing you to offer your teachings to the world.

The COVID-19 global health crisis is tragically affecting the whole world and we are constantly monitoring its status. Here is an update about how it will affect future Nomad Yoga teacher trainings and events.
The retreat center is fully sanitized and taking all necessary health precautions. All classes will take place outdoors in an open-air yoga shala. Meals will also be served in an open-air dining area.
We understand that these are uncertain times, so if travel restrictions make it so that you unable to attend the course, you will be offered the option to transfer your payments to a future course or to be refunded in full.
At this time, to enter Costa Rica, there are no entry restrictions or requirements due to COVID-19. Although the use of a mask is not mandatory, it is recommended to maintain the protocol of hand washing and temperature taking, as well as comply with health protocols. Of course, wearing a mask is a personal choice and you are more than welcome to do so throughout the training if you choose to do so.
You can find more information about entry requirements here.
The course will be entirely taught in English, so proficiency in English is essential.
While anatomically-informed hatha, vinyasa, yin, and restorative yoga are at the core of our teachings, our methodology is also influenced by the Ashtanga, Iyengar, Anusara, and Kundalini traditions. We will also briefly cover essential aspects of prenatal yoga.
It is highly recommended that you have a dedicated and consistent yoga practice for at least 6 months to 1 year before joining the course. The only other prerequisites are a genuine interest in yoga, coming with an open mind, and being prepared to learn :)
This is an intensive, three-week yoga teacher training program, so full attendance and completion of all homework and assignments is mandatory in order to successfully graduate from the course.
After completing your registration, we will send you an official welcome packet by email. This will include your pre-course required readings to prepare you for the training.
Yoga is a practice, not something to be perfected. Wherever you are in your yoga journey, you are good enough. You do not need to be an asana master to teach effectively or to impact your students in a positive way. You do not need to be able to hold handstand free-floating to offer meaningful classes to your community.
Perfectly practicing asana does not create a good teacher. Teaching is a completely separate skill that we will extensively study and practice in this training. You will learn the art of communication and how to empower your students. Your asana skills are unrelated to your teaching skills.
If you love yoga and want to share its teachings, then you are undoubtedly "good enough" and ready to teach yoga!
The first and last day of the course dates are used as travel days so please schedule your arrival and departure accordingly.
The nearest airport is Juan Santamaría International, in San José (airport code: SJO).
From here, you can take a public bus, a small shared shuttle, or a private taxi to the retreat center. The drive takes about 3 hours along a beautiful scenic route.
We are happy to help arrange transport for you if you'd like.
We accept either bank transfers or major credit cards for the deposit and remaining course tuition fees. A $500 USD deposit is required to secure your space in the training and the remaining balance of your tuition is due by the date specified in your welcome packet. Payment plans are available upon request.

The central Pacific coast is one of the most frequently visited areas in Costa Rica and wholeheartedly welcomes international tourism. Visiting Costa Rica either as a solo traveler or with a group is generally considered to be safe, although you should always exercise common sense and vigilance while traveling.
Depending on what passport you hold, most countries are visa exempt for a free 90-day entry into Costa Rica. Select countries need to apply for a visa in advance. Your passport must be valid for 6 months from the day of your arrival and have at least one blank page for a stamp or visa sticker. More visa information can be found here.
